RS-232 ACK Character
This feature specifies which ASCII character will be used as an ACK character.
NOTE
DO NOT set this feature to use previously defined characters
suc
h as XON, XOFF or host commands as this will conflict with
normal operation of these characters. 8-bit data is not recog-
nized when the feature, RS-232 Numb
er of Data Bits, is set to
7 data bits.
To specify the RS‐232 ACK Character:
1. Scan the Enter/Exit Programming Mode barcode at the top of the page.
2. Scan the barcode, SET RS‐232 A
CK Character below. You’ll need to cover any unused
barcodes on this and the facing page to ensure the scanner reads only the barcode
you intend to scan.
3. Scan the appropriate digits from the
Alpha-Numeric Keypad in Appendix C that repre‐
sent the hex designation for the desired character. A table containing the ASCII Char‐
acter Set and their corresponding Hex Values is a
vailable in the inside back cover of
this manual. ASCII parameters must be input by scanning a pair of hexadecimal digits
for the desired character. For example, if ASCII “A” were the desired ACK character,
you would scan the digits “4”, then “1” (the ASCII corresponding hex value).
4. The scanner will automatically exit Programming Mode when the appropriate
amou
nt of digits/characters have been scanned.
