RS-232 Intercharacter Delay
Specifies delay between the end of one character and the beginning of the next in 10‐milli‐
second increments. This delay is inserted after each data character transmitted. If the trans‐
mission speed is too high, the system may not be able to receive all characters. You may
need
to adjust the delay to make the system work properly.
To set the RS‐23
2 Intercharacter Delay:
1. Scan the Enter/Exit Programming Mode barcode at the top of the page.
2. Scan the barcode below,
Set RS-232 Intercharacter Delay.
3. Scan the appropriate digits from the
Alpha-Numeric Keypad in Appendix C that repre‐
sent the desired delay. The selectable range is 0‐10
0, which is the delay in 10‐millisec‐
ond increments. Pad all single and double digit numbers with leading zeroes to yield a
thr
ee‐digit entry (000‐100).
Examples:
001 = 10ms
005 = 50ms
040 = 400ms
100 = 1,000ms (1 second)
4. The scanner will automatically exit Programming Mode when the appropriate
amount of digits have been scanned.
