Window Names, Menu Commands, Window Command Buttons, and Soft
Keys/Buttons
Menu items are shown in Special Bold type. Note that the font is different from that
used for dialog box elements.
Cascading items (such as menu steps and sub-steps) are separated by a space, a pipe
(|), and a second space, and in a special bold typeface, e.g., File | Save.
User Entries
Text you are expected to type in is shown in Courier New (monospaced style)
type.
File Names/Path Names
Names of files and directory path names are shown in Arial (C:\GENIE2K).
Titles
Titles of books and of manual chapters and section are shown in italics.
Each of its chapters covers specific functions and are divided into the following
arrangement:
Chapters
Chapter 1, Introduction, is an introduction to the product and an overview of the
product’s features. In addition, it provides selected safety information.
Chapter 2, Installation - First Use of System, includes information on how to
prepare the product upon receipt as well as a preliminary check-out (both basic
hardware and software setups are discussed).
Chapter 3, Principle of Operation, discusses the main modes of operation and Out
of Service descriptions.
Chapter 4, Unit Setup, provides information on the different types of plots
available for High Voltage (including Figure of Merit Optimization) and
Discrimination setup as well as calibration requirements and methodology.
Chapter 5, Parameters Definition, provides information on software parameters
including an extensive review of the majority of the software setup menus not
discussed in Chapter 4, Unit Setup, Chapter 6, Diagnostics/Maintenance or
Chapter 7, Retrieving Information.
Chapter 6, Diagnostics/Maintenance, gives help on maintaining the unit by
discussing the Test menus and how to handle Faults by troubleshooting.
Chapter 7, Retrieving Information, describes how to obtain useful information
and data from the monitor.
