F3 – Setup Menu
Gem-5 User’s Manual 127
Note: Sum zone efficiencies are normally derived from individual detector
efficiencies.
Source Used: identifies the calibration source used for the calibration collection.
Net Rate: The net count rate for the calibration collection.
Gross Rate: The gross count rate for the calibration collection.
Bkg Time / Rate: The Current Bkg Time and Current Bkg Rate in effect when the
calibration collection was performed.
Calibration Process: See Supplementary Bayesian Methodology User's Manual.
Intended to account for source positioning uncertainty but can include other
applicable uncertainties. Default is “0” %.
Self Shield: The Calibration Source Self Shield Factor in effect when the calibration
collection was performed.
Live Time: The live count time for the calibration collection.
Distance: The distance the calibration source was placed from the detectors during
the calibration collection.
Discriminator and HV: the recorded Discriminator V and HV values for the
calibration collection for zone (for sum any zones (including “Gamma Sum Zone
All”) these values are an average of the individual detectors making up the sum
zone).
If either the DV or HV have changed since the last time the zone has been calibrated,
a Calibration Fault will be generated and will appear in red showing the last value(s)
(see Not Calibrated in F4 – Out of Service Causes on page 141 and Failure to
Return to Service on page 225).
The calibration results and current efficiencies for all zones can be reviewed using the
Calibration Printout screen and the Calibration Data Printout screen.
Shift+F3 – Calibration Settings
Selecting Shift-F3 from the F3 – Detection Zones menu brings up the Calibration
Settings screen (Figure 57) to support automatic calibration count time calculations
and the automatic calibration sequence.
The calibration count time calculation uses Equation 5 on page 136 for Verification
Check count time calculation.
