Solid State Drive Maintenance
The operating system and the monitor software are installed on a 2.5-inch SSD (Solid
state drive).
In the unlikely event of an SSD failure, it can be replaced with SCN 7080332

which is factory loaded with the applicable Windows 7 image.
Alternatively, SCN 7071915 is a solid state drive, which will have to be formatted,
partitioned and loaded with the applicable Windows 7 image as per the instructions
below.
The disk is divided into two partitions. The operating system resides on the primary
partition. The primary partition must be 18432 MB in size and it must be marked
active. The other partition is an extended partition with a logical drive. The extended
partition occupies the rest of the available disk space. This is where the monitor
software resides. Both partitions are formatted with the NTFS file system.
Special Bootable Flash Memory
media is available (Setup USB Flash Memory stick;
see Footnote 1 on page 2) that ships with every order (SCN 7080333 in the case of
Setup USB) for setting up the hard disk. It contains a version of the Windows 7
Embedded operating system of limited functionality, with components that allow
creating partitions and logical drives, formatting partitions and copying files.

Instructions (SCN 8080334) describe the steps that must be followed when setting
up the hard disk. The procedure covers operating system and monitor software
installation (applicable to SCN 7065059 only). Contact your local Mirion
Technologies (Canberra CA) Ltd. Service affiliate for further details and/or
assistance.
Note: It is important to back up all the Monitor specific files prior to any operation
that reformats or resizes the "Monitor" hard disk partition. See instruction
sheet as discussed in Reinstalling or Updating Monitor Software on page 370.
