Line Items
Pulse Amplitude: Range is between 0 V - 2.5 V
Discriminator: (Lower Level Discriminator; LLD) Range is between 0 V - 0.5 V
ULD: (Upper Level Discriminator) Range is between 0 V - 5 V (default is 5 V).
For further information on ULD and Discriminator, see F8 - Discriminator Plot on
page 78.
Function Keys
The following keys are used to control the test:
F5 = Start Gamma Counter Test
F3 = Stop Test
F4 = Clear Counters (with test continuing if already in progress)
F6 = Set Factory Default: Sets the selected item (test pulse amplitude or
discriminator level) to default value (for selected channel only) on all Detector
Boards.
Ctrl+F6 = All Factory Defaults: Sets the test pulse amplitude and discriminator
level to default values (for both channels, if applicable) on all Detector Boards.
Ctrl+F7 = Recall Previous Settings: Restores test pulse amplitude and
discriminator level to values in effect when the screen was opened.
Esc = Return to Test Menu provided that test is not in progress.
Specific Information for Bench Test Models only
Function Keys
The following additional keys are used to control the test when Model is set to
“Bench Test” in the Ctrl+F10 – Factory Setup, F1 – Model Selection screen:
Ctrl+F4 = Set Pass Values (Bench Test model only): sets the Discriminator to
factory default (0.10 V) and sets the Pulse Amplitude to 0.15 V, which is above the
discriminator setting. This should result in a count for all detectors, thus confirming
that the amplifier and counter are working properly.
Ctrl+F5 = Set Fail Values (Bench Test model only): sets the Discriminator to
factory default (0.10 V) and sets the Pulse Amplitude to 0.05 V, which is below the
discriminator setting. This should result in a large error for all detectors, thus
confirming that the low-level discriminator is cutting the pulses off.
