• D3 red; ON when opened position is activated.
• D4 red; ON to indicate fault state.
• D23 red; ON when the controller is in service state (will light together with
D4).
• D43 red; ON when the electromagnet is activated (engages brake).
• D10, D17 (green and yellow) are indicating activity of the DC motor.
• D5, D9 (red yellow) indicate fuse blown / reverse power applied to the board.
• D51 ON when encoder fault is detected. Usually goes ON together with D4.
• D38 not used.
With power applied and motor active, it is normal for D10 & D17 to go ON together

Operation
Overview
The controller has three distinct modes of operation: Learning Phase, Normal
Operation Phase and Fault Condition Phase. Immediately after reset or power-on the
controller enters the Learning Phase.
Description of the Learning Phase
After powering the unit on (or reset) the arm is moved up ~20 degrees and then
moved down until the vertical position limit switch is activated (for the barrier
firmware version, only limit switch is used). This ends the Learning Phase and the
controller enters the Normal Operation Phase. Note that a proper adjustment of the
limit switch 1 (a photosensor is used as this switch) is required for the barrier to
correctly move between horizontal (when closed) and vertical (when open)
positions. For the door version of the firmware, cutting the optical beam during the
Learning Phase will result in reinitiating the Learning Phase. If during this phase the
optical beam is permanently obstructed, the controller will not initiate the Learning
Phase leaving the moving train free.
