Use the following list and table to understand the features of the GEM-5 Gamma Exit
Monitor:
• “Best in Industry” sensitivity
• Eight identical large plastic scintillators
− Three per side
− One top/bottom
• 25 mm (1 in.) lead shielding
• Lead is provided as ingots for easy field installation
• Additional second set of lead shielding available for areas with higher
background conditions
• Integral (Embedded Windows 7) computer
− Requires no external PC for setup/calibration
− Fully LAN ready (networkable)
• Color LCD screen and annunciator lights
• Voice prompts for ease of use
• Bi-directional operation (i.e., approach from either direction)
• Continuous automatic background subtraction
• Built in support for “Optimize Gamma HV”
• High Voltage Optimization using Figure-of-Merit (FOM) calculations for
models with Gamma scintillation detectors (Argos Zeus, GEM-5 and Cronos)
• Fixed or variable count times (calculated and optimized as a function of the
alarm level set, the background and the desired accuracy of measurement).
