Background Suppression Infrared Photo Sensor
This device is used as a foot, hand, and body sensor on different models (refer to
Table 41 on page 349).
It is a one-piece combined transmitter-receiver type. Sensitivity is set at the factory
for the application and can be adjusted if required. The sensor also has a mode
selection switch, which must be set to “L ON”, and an Output switch, which must be
set to NPN. The orange LED indicates a sensor alarm (object detected). Activation
can be confirmed by the orange LED, and on the Sensor Board Test screen.

Functions and Controls
The controls are located under a translucent hinged plastic cover that must be raised
to access the controls. The indicating lights are visible through the cover.
Green LED (Stability indicator): Should be on to indicate stability. When the green
LED is off, the sensor is operating close to its sensitivity limit, and the sensor may
operate unreliably.
Orange LED (Light indicator): The orange LED is lit when an object is detected.
Sensitivity (Distance) Adjustment: Six-turn trimpot allows for sensitivity
adjustment - clockwise to increase sensitivity or detection distance, counterclockwise
to decrease sensitivity. The actual setting (number of turns) is indicated on the
distance setting indicator. It is factory-preset and should not normally require
adjusting.
