The Low Background Rate check is intended for checking the detector response to
Gamma background radiation.
A service visit is required to restore the unit to service following a low background
rate alarm unless the unit is in auto recovery mode for this condition. Monitoring can
be restored with a failed detector, if permitted by the policy at the facility, by placing
the failed detector in conditional service as described in F4 – Faults on page 221.
