(Mode = Auto notch: SSB/AM/FM
Manual notch: SSB/CW/RTTY/AM)
This transceiver has Auto and Manual Notch functions.

In the SSB or AM mode, push
(C) to toggle
the Notch function between auto, manual and OFF.
• Either the Auto or Manual notch function can be turned
OFF in the “[NOTCH] switch (SSB)” or “[NOTCH] switch
(AM)” item of the “Function” Set mode. (p. 17-21)

In the CW or RTTY mode, push ➥

the Manual Notch function ON or OFF.
In the FM mode, push ➥

to turn the Auto
Notch function ON or OFF.
• “AN” appears when the Auto Notch function is ON.
• “MN” appears when the Manual Notch function is ON.
• No indicator appears when the notch lter is OFF.
D Auto Notch function
The Auto Notch function uses DSP to automatically at-
tenuate beat tones, tuning signals, and so on, even if
their frequencies are changing.
