Model Selection and Configuration
Gem-5 User’s Manual 19
Since the F1 – Model Selection screen identifies the physical hardware (model and
optional items), it should be necessary to access this screen only during initial
installation and when the control software is reinstalled or updated. However the
program can operate in Demonstration or Simulator mode for training purposes,
using this screen to change the model number and/or optional equipment, to
investigate the different features and options available on different models. The
detector inset diagram on this screen reflects the model number and any optional
detectors specified.
Additional settings on this screen control whether conditional service is permitted,
whether previously known faults are automatically cleared when the program is
restarted, and whether Krypton Mode are supported.
To prevent unauthorized or accidental change to the F1 – Model Selection settings, a
password must be entered to access this screen if Enable Access Level Control is set
to “YES” and the Level 2 or 3 Password is set in the F6 – Access Level Settings
screen.
F6 (Ctrl+F6) loads default settings for the model currently selected. Ctrl+F7
restores settings, including Model, to values in effect when the screen was opened.
