To accommodate future new board versions that might have differing software
requirements, carrier boards have a computer readable model identification (Id). The
Carrier Board model number can be determined from the Id displayed on the Carrier
Board Test screen, which is accessed from the Test Menu, or from the markings
stamped on the board, as shown in Table 30.

The board has several enhanced features:
• Supports standard ETX form factor computer board;
• External accessible connectors for: printer, external VGA display, keyboard,
mouse, USB;
• Internal access connectors for: detector serial interface (16-wire ribbon),
Ethernet, speakers, line level input, LCD panel(s), RS-232;
• Houses computer Board which Includes built in sound board functionality (a
separate sound board is not needed);
• Electronics and glue logic for: detector interface, system clock, voltmeter,
temperature meter, and fan control. The voltage levels and board
temperature are displayed on the Carrier Board Tests screen and on the
Detector Faults screen. On-board temperature sensor triggers the over
temperature alarm that may bring the unit Out of Service when enabled when
over temperature condition is detected (> 70 °C).
• Power supply for LCD panel (+3.3V).
The sound board functionality is included on the computer. The Carrier Board
provides the power amplification required to drive the loudspeakers. It also has a line
level audio input for use with the Optional IPCAM212 Camera (see Options starting
on page 334 or latest IPCAM212 – IP Network Camera Installation & Operations
Manual).
