Chapter 2 Installation - First Use of System
24 Gem-5 User’s Manual
for a supervisor person to activate with a key when occupant is unable to activate all
the position sensors due to a disability. For two-step monitoring this terminal must
go in-active and then active again when occupant is once more “In Position”.
Language: When assigned a terminal, the “Switch” choice is available for the F3
Setup, F6 – Operation Voice & Screen; Voice Select setting.
No Body Close Operation: When assigned a terminal, an active signal at this
terminal allows monitoring without the Body Close sensor being active. Assigning
the same terminal to One Handed Operation would allow one hand to be inactive as
well.
Simulate Contaminated: On simulator units (see F1 - Model Selection) this is
assigned a spare latched input terminal, which allows a momentary contact
pushbutton switch to force a contaminated result.
Note: Due to tracking of Background Change during measurement, the pushbutton
must be pressed just before count starts to get a contaminated result.
Resume Contaminated: If this is assigned a spare terminal then the contaminated
screen is paused until the contacts are closed
for the assigned input. Verbal messages
will cease when the occupant
has left but the contaminated screen will stay until
resume contamin
ated becomes active. The Alarm Test terminal can also be used
with the Alarm Test switch doing both Alarm Test (from slowly drifting Mirion
Technologies (Canberra CA) Ltd. logo background screen or Ready screen) and
Resume Contamination (from contaminated screen). In addition, one can keep the
barriers closed when co
ntaminated and require key switch to proceed. Therefore one
can have this terminal also control the Hot Side
barrier (see F4 – Access
Configuration screen on page 28).
A second contact can be added to
the Manual Stop Measurement Input switch
for this function (see F4 Access Configuration screen on page 28), by wiring it to
TB14 Spare 1 (available as Mirion Technologies (Canberra CA) Ltd. Resume
Contamination Switch Retrofit Kit SCN 816855).
Ready Lamp: This indicates that the monitor is available for monitoring.
Fault Lamp: This indicates that the monitor is a fault condition (Out of Service
mode).
Wait Lamp: This indicates that the occupant is to wait in the monitor during the
Monitoring cycle for GEM-5 in one-step mode (cannot be chosen if Clean is set to
this).
Contaminated: This indicates that the occupant is contaminated.
Clean: This indicates that the occupant is clean (cannot be chosen if Wait Lamp is set
to this).
