To adjust the frequency setting, press the MAIN FILTER menu key ( ),
followed by the A key. With FREQ 1 highlighted, rotate the knob until the desired
frequency is displayed.
To speed up the frequency selection process, press the Enter key ( ) while the
FREQ function is highlighted to enable the coarse-knob function. FREQ 1 will be
underlined when this function is enabled. To turn off the coarse-knob function, press
one more time.
ANGLE (rotation)
The phase angle (or rotation) of the eddy current signal is set using the ANGLE
key ( ). By default, the angle is set in 1 degree increments, from 0 degrees to
359 degrees.
To adjust the angle setting, press the MAIN FILTER menu key ( ), followed by
the B key. Once the ANGLE function is highlighted, rotate the knob until the
desired angle is displayed.
To be able to adjust the angle more precisely, press the Enter key ( ) once while the
ANGLE function is highlighted to enable the fine-knob function. ANGLE will be
underlined when this function is enabled. The angle can then be changed in
0.1 degree increments. To turn off the fine-knob function, press one more time.
GAIN
Gain is adjustable from 0.0 dB to 100.0 dB. The displayed gain setting is adjusted
in 0.1 dB steps.
Gain can be adjusted independently in the horizontal or vertical direction, or in
both directions simultaneously. The primary method of adjusting gain is by
turning the knob. However, gain may also be adjusted by using the knobless
function (see “Knobless Entry” on page 78 for more details).
