If t
he free clearance of throttle grip cannot be met
by adjusting the upper end of throttle cable, adjust
the lower end of throttle cable [B] and adjust the
throttle cable according to the following steps:
(1) Unscrew the lock nut [D].
(2) Rotate the adjusting nut [C] so that the free
clearance of throttle grip [A] is large enough until the
free clearance of throttle grip is 3-5mm.
(3) Tighten the lock nut [D].
(5) After the free travel is adjusted, turn the direction
to the right and left to confirm that there is no change
in idle speed of engine.
If the free clearance cannot be adjusted by the
adjuster, change the wire.
Checking Idle Speed
●Start the engine and make it hot thoroughly.
When the engine is idle, rotate the handlebar to both
sides [A].
If the idle speed can be changed when rotating the
handlebar, it indicates that the throttle cable is not
adjusted well or the winding method is incorrect or
damaged. Before riding, make sure to correct the
above problems (see the sections of “Accessory
chapter: “Checking Throttle Control Syst
em” and
“Winding Method of Cable, Wire and Hose”).
Warning
If you ride when the cables are not adjusted
well or damaged or the winding method is
incorrect, safety accident may be caused.
