Checking Fuel Evaporation and Recovery System (Chinese, European and US Models)
●Remove the canister according to the following steps.
○Remove the seat cushion (see “Seat Cushion
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter).
○Remove the left and right covers (see “Cover
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter).
○
Remove the fuel tank cover (see “Cover
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter)
○
Remove the fuel tank (see “Fuel Tank Disassembly”
in “Fuel tank” chapter)
○Remove the air filter (see “Air Filter Disassembly”
in “Frame” chapter).
○
Remove the bolt [A] used for fixing canister
.
○Remove the canister
[A] and take the hose used to
connect canister down.
○Check whether there are cracks or other damages on
the canister.
★If any, it shall be replaced with a new one.
Remark
○If the canister is used under normal situations, it
can be used normally within the service lift of the
motorcycle without maintenance.
●Remove the canister solenoid valve according to the
following steps.
○
Remove the seat cushion (see “Seat Cushion
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter).
○
Remove the left and right cover (see “Cover
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter).
○
Remove the fuel tank cover (see “Cover
Disassembly” in “Frame” chapter)
○
Remove the fuel tank (see “Fuel Tank Disassembly”
in “Fuel tank” chapter)
○Remove the air filter (see “Air Filter Disassembly”
in “Frame” chapter).
