The voice instruction files, such as CLEAN.WAV, are located in the voice directories
"D:\MonitorProgram\VOICE#" where # is 1 to 8, thus providing for alternative
voice or language selections, as discussed below. The standard installation has
Voice1 through Voice4 installed with Voice5 through Voice8 empty. A listing of the
standard voice files is provided in the appendix, Operating Files and Directory
Structure in Voice Files, on page 304.
The text that appears during Operation on the display, such as the READY,
POSITION, and OUT OF SERVICE, is generated from the corresponding INST*.DF
file located in the D:\MonitorProgram\SETTINGS directory. These instructions
can be reviewed and edited using the F11

Operation Instruction Menu. If
Operation Voice & Screen (Figure 66) is set to “Multiple Language” then each
Operation screen can have different text for use with each Voice Choice from 1 to 8,
thereby providing the ability to match the language used for on-screen instruction
with the selected Voice# directory.

If Operation Screen is set to “Multiple Language” then Voice Choice and Voice
Select change to Voice & Screen Choice and Voice & Screen Select to indicate that
the Operation screen instructions, as set in the Operation Instruction Menu, will
match the Voice Choice selected. In addition, settings for Voice 1 (to Voice 8)
Default Language is shown. These settings determine the language used when F6 or
Ctrl+F6 is used to load default text into the Operation Instruction Menu screens.
The language used to create the text for Service Menu screens (e.g. F3 – Setup
screens and F2 – Test screens), printouts and data log files is set on the F1 – Model
Selection screen.
