The same central computer can serve as a repository for archiving of Data Log (CSV)
files, Plot (CSV) files, Log (LOG) files and text (TXT) files, constituting
configuration, data log, maintenance log, and results files, for up to 90 contamination
monitors. The file transfer operation can be done automatically at a preset time every
day or upon request initiated by an operator at the central computer. To accomplish
this each unit must send status information to the central computer at regular intervals
and send data files upon request. In a typical facility, the central history computer
would be located in the Health Physics department. Each personnel monitor is
identified on the central monitor display by its Monitor ID/Location ID/Serial
Number on a colored box (normally green) that turns red when the unit reports itself
out of service and yellow if the unit stops reporting. Clicking on a green box initiates
a manual request for transfer of the data files for that monitor. Refer to CRemote
manual for further details. The configuration settings are found in the lower portion
(Send Data Log) of the Data Transfer (Network) Setup screen, as shown in Figure 75
above.
In general, the F8 – Print Out screen settings (on page 148) determine which check
results files are saved and for how many days they are retained while the F9 – Data
Transfer (Network) Setup screen settings (on page 155) determine which are
transferred.
The central (status) monitoring computer must be running the CRemote application to
receive status information and the central history computer must be running one of
the CRemote application to receive status information and data files from multip
le
units. These applications may be purchased from Mirion Technologies (Canberra
CA) Ltd. Refer to the CRemote manual for additional details.
