To take a detector and its assembly out of the unit, one has to first disconnect the two
grey, 16-conductor ribbon cables from the back of the Gamma Detector Board, which
is attached to the detector (note that last detector in the chain has only one ribbon
cable – the second connector holds the Terminator Board instead. Press back the
retaining side clips, and the plug should partially elevate from the connector. Note
that the plugs are keyed and cannot be reinserted into the mating connector in an
incorrect orientation. SeeFigure 152 (right side).
Remove Gamma Detector Board
To remove the Detector Board from the frame after the whole assembly has been put
on a firm flat surface, unscrew the two fasteners that attach the detector board to the
detector frame (refer to Figure 153 for location of fasteners). Unplug the two cables
connecting the board to the photomultiplier tube (Figure 154).
