Gem-5 User’s Manual 39
Level 3 (full) access enables all service screens. See Figure 38 on page 72 including
F7 - Demonstration Display screen, which is hidden in “Level 2”.
When Enable Access Level Control is set “NO” pressing the Escape (Esc) key from
an operation screen will go to the Service Menu with Level 3 access. Also pressing
the Escape (Esc) key from the Out of Service screen will go to the F4 - Fault screen
with Level 3 access.
When Enable Access Level Control is set to “YES” pressing the Escape (Esc) key
will bring up a window asking for Service Password (Figure 17).
Figure 17 Service Password Prompt
Enter password appropriate for desired level and then tab to level button and press
space bar or press Alt+1 or Alt+2 or Alt+3. An incorrect password will beep and
cancel.
If current level is 1 or 2 then pressing Escape (Esc) key on the Service Menu will also
bring up this menu allowing the level to be increased. In addition, when Access
Level is less than 3, then “Esc – Service Menu Level” is shown instead of
“Alt+F4 – Exit program” on the bottom of the Service Menu.
Note: Versions older than Version 7.08 made use of this feature in the F3 – Setup,
F5 – Configuration Password Usage and Password settings. Therefore,
when updating to Version 7.08 or later, if Password Usage was “SERVICE”
or “SETUP” then Password is copied to Level 1 Password, Level 2
Password and Level 3 Password. Enable Access Level Control is also set
to “YES”.
