The two 2-terabyte (TB) hard disk drive (HDD) modules in each QFX3100 Director device
provide storage for the Director device and the QFX3000 QFabric System. The four HDD
modules in the two QFX3100 Director devices participating in a Director group operate
in a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) system to synchronize directories or
files across the HDD modules.
Each HDD module can be installed in one of the two top slots on the front panel of the
QFX3100 Director device. The QFX3100 Director device is shipped with two HDD modules.
HDD modules are field-replaceable units (FRUs).
