37.4 General Cleaning Methods
Clean your equipment on a regular basis. Before cleaning the equipment, consult your hospital’s regulations for
cleaning the equipment.
To clean the main unit, displays, modules, module racks, follow this procedure:
1. Dampen a soft lint-free cloth with one of the approved cleaning agent.
2. Wring excess liquid from the cloth and wipe the display screen.
3. Wipe the external surface of the main unit, modules, and module racks with the damp cloth, avoiding the
connectors.
4. Dry the surface with a clean cloth or paper towel. Allow the equipment air dry in a ventilated and cool
place.
• Always dilute according the manufacturer’s instructions or use lowest possible concentration.
• Take extra care when cleaning the screen because it is more sensitive to rough cleaning method than
the housing. To clean the screen when the monitor is on, lock the touchscreen by selecting and
holding the main screen key until the padlock symbol appears above the Main Menu quick key.
• Avoid pouring the liquid on the monitor while cleaning the monitor. Do not allow water or cleaning
solution to enter the measurement connectors. Wipe around, not over, connector sockets.
• Any contact of disinfectant solutions with metal parts may cause corrosion.
• When cleaning the mouse, keyboard, or other peripheral devices, disconnect them from the
monitor.

Disinfect the monitor as required in your hospital’s servicing schedule. Cleaning equipment before disinfecting
is recommended.
