Circumferential scratches on area "B" Use a 0.040 inch (1.02 mm) radius ball scribe to remove the
scratch. Remove the high metal. The damage is permitted if
no sign of the scratch is remaining.
Axial scratches areas "A" and "C" Permitted. Remove the high metal.
Axial scratches in area "B" Not permitted. Replace the tube.
Nicks and pits in area "C" Blend to make the damage smooth. Permitted, if the
damage is less than 1/32 inch (0.8 mm) in depth after the
repair.
Nicks and pits areas "A" and "B" Not permitted. Replace the tube.
Circumferential score marks on the silver plated mating
surface
Permitted, if the score marks do not go all the way through
the silver plated surface to the basic metal. If it is necessary,
replace the tube.

(4) Examine the tube and hose fitting nuts for the conditions that follow:
CONDITION MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS
Damaged corners Permitted, if the torque value is correct.
Damaged threads Chase the threads. The total of one thread can be gone.
Worn lockwire holes Permitted, if the metal around the hole has no cracks or
tears. If it is necessary, drill new lockwire holes in the
remaining area of the nut flat. The new hole must have the
same diameter as the initial hole. It must be the be the
same distance from the end of the nut as the initial hole.

(5) Examine the swivel flange fittings for the conditions that follow (Figure 628):

Nicks or scratches on the seating surface (surface B) Not permitted. Replace the tube.
Nicks or scratches on the mating surfaces (surfaces A and
C)
Remove the high metal. The remaining damage is permitted
if it is less than 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) in depth.
Cracks Not permitted. Replace the tube.
Seating surface (surface B) is not flat Permitted, if it is less than 0.006 inch (0.15 mm) different
from the initial flat surface. If it is necessary, replace the
tube.
Cracks that go out from the bolt holes Two bolt holes are permitted to have these cracks if the
cracks are on the outer radius of the bolt hole. If it is
necessary, replace the tube.
Weld joint cracks Not permitted. Replace the tube.
