(11) Do the steps that follow to install the borescope plugs B2-1 through B2-6 (Figure 601):
NOTE: If you will do the borescope inspection of the high pressure turbine (that follows) at this
time, do not install the borescope plugs. The same borescope plugs will be used.
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE BORESCOPE PLUGS ARE INSTALLED IN THE
CORRECT PORT LOCATIONS. ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF A
BORESCOPE PLUG IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT LOCATION.
(a) Apply a light layer of the anti-seize coumpound on the threads and the pressure faces of
the plugs.
1) Use of these anti-seize compound:
a) compound, D00004
b) pure nickel special compound, D50017 [C02-071] (Preferred)
c) Acheson GP460 compound, D50043 [C02-058] (Alternate)
d) anti-seize compound, D50067 [C02-001] (Alternate)
(b) Tighten the plugs to the torque values shown in Table 601.
1) Install lockwire.
(c) Install the ECS duct (Figure 601).

(12) If it is necessary, do the steps that follow to put the airplane to its usual condition:
NOTE: Do not do these steps if you will continue the inspection at this time.
(a) Remove the equipment that you used to turn the N2 rotor (PAGEBLOCK 72-00-00/201).
WARNING
OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO CLOSE THE
THRUST REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS,
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(b) Close the thrust reversers (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(c) Close the core cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-06/201).
(d) Do the activation procedure for the thrust reverser (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(e) Close the fan cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-04/201).

NOTE: This procedure is a scheduled maintenance task.
A. General
(1) This task gives instructions on how to do the borescope inspection of the High Pressure
Turbine.
(2) You use the borescope ports for access to examine the internal engine areas. You do not have
to disassemble the engine to do this task.
