1) Remove, disassemble, and inspect the fan rotor, the fan mid shaft, and the LPT
rotor (Ref GE Engine Manual).
H. Core Engine (N2) Overspeed Inspection
SUBTASK 72-00-00-216-058-G00
(1) If the core engine was operated at speeds of 110.6% (10869 rpm) to 111.7% (10976 rpm), do
the steps that follow:
(a) Examine the exhaust nozzles for particles.
(b) Do the procedure to borescope inspect the compressor rotor and stages 1 and 12 for
blade damage.
(c) Do the procedure to borescope inspect the HPT for blade damage.
SUBTASK 72-00-00-026-149-G00
(2) If the core engine rotor was operated at speeds above 111.7% (10976 rpm), do the steps that
follow:
(a) Replace the engine (TASK 71-00-02-004-004-G00 and TASK 71-00-02-404-233-G00).
1) Disassemble and do an inspection on the engine.
SUBTASK 72-00-00-866-059-G00
(3) If it is necessary, refer to the Continue-In-Operation Limits.
I. Overtemperature Inspection
SUBTASK 72-00-00-286-144-G00
(1) For information on how much time the engine can be used at different temperatures (and the
required inspections), see the power plant operation limits (TASK 71-00-00-862-002-G00).
J. No Oil Pressure Inspection
SUBTASK 72-00-00-026-061-G00
(1) If the engine was operated with the oil pressure below 10 psi (69 kPa) for more than the time
limits that follow, you must remove the engine for disassembly and inspection.
(a) Time Limits
1) Takeoff Power - 30 seconds
2) Cruise Power - 45 seconds
3) Idle (Approach or Minimum) - 2 minutes.
SUBTASK 72-00-00-216-062-G00
(2) If the engine was operated with the oil pressure below 10 psi (69 kPa) for less time than the
time limits, do the steps that follow:
(a) Examine the lube filter (TASK 79-21-07-107-001-G00).
(b) Examine the supply and scavenge inlet screens (TASK 79-21-06-202-020-G00).
(c) Examine the magnetic chip detector (TASK 79-21-05-202-053-G00).
(d) Replace the scavenge oil filter (TASK 79-21-08-216-001-G00).
(e) Drain and replace the oil (TASK 79-11-00-603-023-G00).
(f) When you operate the engine, make sure the engine indications are satisfactory.
SUBTASK 72-00-00-866-134-G00
(3) If the engine has been operated normally with a windmill condition:
(a) There are no time limits for a windmill condition if the engine has been operated normally
after the windmill (the engine parts that must have lubrication will have been oil-wetted).
