ENGINE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. General
A. This procedure has three tasks.
(1) The first task manually turns the rotor with an input at the transfer gearbox and requires the
removal of two access cover plates.
(2) The second task turns the N2 rotor pneumatically, with an input at the starter pad, and requires
removal of the starter.
(3) The third task identifies the zero degree point on the N2 Rotor.

2. Manually Turn the Engine
(Figure 201)
A. General
(1) This task provides the instructions on how to manually crank the N2 rotor.
(2) The motoring pad is located on the accessory gearbox pad number 7.
(3) It is recommended to have two mechanics to do this task. The second mechanic can verify the
first mechanic work.
