3. Install the No. 1 Bearing Manifold

(1) Coat the threads and washer faces of bolts with anti-seize compound, D50067 [C02-001].

(2) Lightly coat preformed packings with oil, D00552 [C02-019].

(3) Place the gasket on the aft side of the flange of the No. 1 bearing manifold.

(4) Install preformed packing J221P172 to the aft ring groove and preformed packing
9607M05P36 to the forward ring groove.

(5) Insert manifold assembly to the inside diameter of the fan rotor.
NOTE: To help with the installation of the No. 1 bearing manifold, the operator can do this step
that follows. Lightly coat the sealing surface of the fan rotor inner diameter with oil.

(6) Install the bolts and attach manifold to the inboard flange of the forward fan shaft.
(a) Tighten the ten bolts to 24-27 pound-inches (2.7-3.10 Newton meters).
