6. Examine the First Stage Disk

SUBTASK 72-31-00-212-020-G00
(1) Visually examine the first stage disk for the conditions that follow:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limits
Cracks Not Permitted.
Nicks and scratches Permitted, if they are less than 0.010 inch (0.25 mm) in
depth (after the high metal is removed).
Nicks and scratches on the dovetail slots, disk bore, bore
faces, and the aft side of web
Permitted if they are less than 0.003 inch (0.8 mm) in depth.
Wear of the Cu-Ni-Indium layer on the dovetail pressure
faces
75% of the total area must have the layer. No fretting of the
base metal is permitted.
Molydag layer on the dovetail pressure faces that is gone Permitted, if it is possible, apply two new molydag layers
before you install the disk.
Sealant that is gone from the blade retainer Permitted.
