CAUTION
FIELD EXPERIENCE HAS SHOWN THAT A CAUTION STREAMER IS
NECESSARY, TO REMIND MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL, TO INSTALL THE
MOTORING PAD COVER PLATE AFTER A BORESCOPE INSPECTION OF
THE CORE. IF THE COVERPLATE IS NOT INSTALLED, THE FASTENERS
ARE NOT CORRECTLY TORQUED, OR THE O-RING IS NOT CORRECTLY
INSTALLED, THERE WILL BE A RAPID OIL LOSS TO THE ENGINE. AN IN-
FLIGHT SHUT DOWN OR EXTENSIVE ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Install the borescope caution streamer, SPL-6917 to the accessory gearbox or a hose/tube
assembly near the starter pad.

(2) Attach the engine core motoring adapter, SPL-12856 to the starter pad.

(3) Remove the 360 degree protractor from the fixture - engine rotation borescope, SPL-6363.

(4) Attach the fixture - engine rotation borescope, SPL-6363 to engine core motoring adapter,
SPL-12856.
(a) Tighten the nuts to 24-27 pound-inches (2.7-3.0 Newton-meters).

(5) Turn the engine core as required.

(6) Remove fixture - engine rotation borescope, SPL-6363 from engine core motoring adapter,
SPL-12856.

(7) Remove the engine core motoring adapter, SPL-12856 from the starter pad.

(8) Remove the borescope caution streamer, SPL-6917 from the accessory gearbox or the
hose/tube assembly near the starter pad.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Install the starter (PAGEBLOCK 80-11-01/401).

WARNING
OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE PROCEDURE TO CLOSE THE THRUST
REVERSERS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, INJURIES TO
PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING
REMOVE ALL TOOLS AND OTHER OBJECTS FROM THE INLET COWL,
STRUT, OR ENGINE. LOOSE OBJECTS WILL COME THROUGH THE ENGINE
AT HIGH SPEED WHEN IT OPERATES. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Close the right thrust reverser (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
