(3) Have the grit blast operator do the steps that follow.
(a) Set the flow rate on the grit blast machine to use 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms) of coke in
one to one and a half minutes.
(b) Point the coke stream at the center of the engine fan blades (at the outer edge of the
spinner).
(c) Turn on the grit blast machine.
(d) Make sure that the coke cleaning kit, SPL-6362 is equally applied completely around the
spinner.
(e) Turn off the grit blast machine when the 25 pounds (11.3 kilograms) of coke have been
used.

(4) Continue to operate the engine for five minutes at approach idle power (to make sure all the
coke is removed from the engine).

(5) Use the Power Plant Operation (Normal) procedure to do the engine shut-down
(PAGEBLOCK 71-00-00/201).

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE THE BLOCKAGE MATERIAL AND THE
TAPE FROM THE FAN AIR SCOOP. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE CAN
OCCUR IF THE BLOCKAGE IS NOT REMOVED.
(6) Remove the masking tape, G02350 [C10-012] and blockage material that are over the fan air
scoop.

(7) Open all the pneumatic bleed valves (PAGEBLOCK 36-11-00/501) that were closed for this
procedure.

(8) Cover the grit blast machine.
