(2) Do the steps that follow to prepare the removal tool:
(a) Turn the screw in the removal tool all the way counterclockwise to retract the pusher
plate.
(b) Move the outer sleeve back to let the flexible fingers of the inner sleeve extend.

(3) Install the removal tool into the empty space (where the oil seal was installed).
(a) Apply pressure on the removal tool until the plastic stop touches the mating ring.

(4) Slide the outer sleeve over the inner sleeve.
NOTE: The flexible fingers will close over the mating ring.

(5) Use a ratchet wrench with a 1/2 inch socket to tighten the screw in a clockwise direction.
(a) Tighten until you pull the mating ring out of the shaft.

(6) Remove the removal tool.
(a) Move the outer sleeve back to release the mating ring.
(b) Discard the packing and the mating ring.
