(g) Remove the cap from the opposite end of the tube.
(h) Use the handle to push the compound from the tube.

(3) Do the steps that follow to apply the abradable shroud material:
(a) Make a template from material that is 0.060 inch (1.52 mm) thick.
NOTE: The top surface of the repair area must be the same height as the adjacent area.
(b) Put the template on the repair area.
(c) Use a spatula to apply the abradable seal material.
(d) Use a spatula to push the abradable seal material into the repair area.
1) Make sure you keep air bubbles out of the repair.
(e) Make the repair surface smooth, and at the same level as (or slightly above) the adjacent
area.
(f) Cure at room temperature 75°F (24°C) for 8 hours or at 150°-180°F (66°-82°C) for 2
hours.

(4) Use the 80-grit sandpaper to make the repair surface the same level as the adjacent area.

(5) Visually examine the repair area for empty spaces.
(a) Empty spaces are not permitted.
(b) If it is necessary, remove the repaired abradable shroud and do the repair again.

(6) Do the steps that follow to make sure the repaired abradable shroud is tightly attached:
(a) Use a steel rod to lightly hit the repair area.
1) You can use a steel rod that is approximately 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) in diameter and 2
inches (51 mm) in length, with a rounded end.
(b) Use the force necessary to make a sound you can hear.
1) If the repair area is too loose, the sound will be a click.
2) If the repair area is satisfactory, the sound will be solid.
(c) If the repair area is not correctly attached, remove and replace the repair area.
I. Put the Airplane to its Usual Condition

(1) Install the fan rotor blades (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-02/401).

(2) Install the fan rotor spinner (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-01/401).

(3) Remove the protective mats, STD-6378 from the inlet cowl.
