4. How to Clean Special Contaminations
A. General
(1) The following procedure cleans light dirt, grease, oil and gum with Stoddard Solvent (or with a
steam cleaner). Instructions are also given to clean hydraulic fluid, and fire extinguisher
agents.

DO NOT GET CLEANING SOLUTIONS IN YOUR MOUTH, EYES, OR ON
YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE
SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU CLEAN. KEEP CLEANING
SOLUTIONS AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAMES, AND HEAT. CLEANING
SOLUTIONS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE, AND CAN CAUSE INJURY
TO PERSONS.
(1) Use general solvent, B50069 [C04-002] (a hydrocarbon solvent) to clean light dirt, grease, oil
and gum from the engine.

CAUTION
DO NOT CLEAN PLASTIC AND RUBBER-BASE MATERIALS WITH
STODDARD SOLVENT. CORROSION OF MATERIALS COULD OCCUR.
(2) To apply general solvent, B50069 [C04-002], do the steps that follow:
(a) Apply solvent with a clean cloth soaked with solvent, or spray by hand.
