or remove the bracket from the airplane and repair (weld)

or remove the bracket from the airplane and repair (weld)
the bracket.
Broken ears or ears that are gone Not permitted. Replace the bracket, or remove the bracket
from the airplane and repair (weld) the bracket.

(4) Examine the metal gaskets for the conditions that follow:

Nicks, cuts and gouges across the sealing surface Not permitted. Replace the gasket.
Hard or brittle gaskets Not permitted. Replace the gasket.
Gasket material that goes out from the metal surface Permitted, if the gasket material is less than 0.018 inch (0.45
mm) above the metal surface. If it is necessary, replace the
gasket.
