FAN ROTOR SPINNER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Remove the Fan Rotor Spinner

tools shown are alternates to each other within the same airplane series. Tool part numbers
that are replaced or non-procurable are preceded by "Opt:", which stands for Optional.

neoprene sponge, 1 inch thick, approximately 3 x 4 feet with warning
streamer attached

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE EDGES OF THE PROTECTIVE MATS ARE TIGHT
TOGETHER OR SEALED WITH TAPE. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE FROM
TOOLS, PARTS, OR UNWANTED MATERIALS THAT FALL ON THE INLET
COWL SURFACE.
(1) Put protective mats, STD-6378 (3 required) in the inlet cowl so all of the lower half of the cowl
surface is covered.

CAUTION
YOU MUST PUT AN IDENTIFICATION MARK ON ALL THE REMOVED PARTS.
DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN OCCUR IF THE PARTS ARE NOT PUT BACK
IN THE CORRECT LOCATION.
CAUTION
USE ONLY APPROVED COMPOUNDS TO MAKE A MARK ON THE ENGINE
PARTS. IF COMPOUNDS THAT ARE NOT APPROVED ARE USED, DAMAGE
CAN OCCUR TO THE ENGINE PARTS.
(2) Put a mark on the spinner (Figure 401).
(a) Find the offset hole in the spinner. It is painted white, and identified with the letter "O".
(b) Find blade No. 1. It is the second blade, counterclockwise from the offset hole.
(c) Put a mark on the spinner and the platform of the first-stage disk to help make sure it will
be aligned correctly when it is installed.
