(a) Mix the initial coating mixture in a ratio of one part Metcoseal AP adhesive, A01044
[C01-030] to one part Metroseal APT thinner, B00674 [C01-031].
(b) Apply one layer of the mixture to the surface of the thrust reverser supports.
(c) Permit the adhesive to air dry for 30 minutes.
(d) Apply one layer of the adhesive that you have not mixed with the thinner.
(e) Permit to air dry for 30 minutes.

(5) If no more repairs will be done at this time, do these steps to put the airplane to its usual
condition:
(a) Close the thrust reversers (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
(b) Close the fan cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-04/201).

(1) Do these steps to prepare for the chevron seal repair:
(a) Cut and remove the damaged section of the chevron seal.
(b) From a piece of salvaged chevron seal, cut a replacement piece.
NOTE: The replacement piece can be less than 0.020 inch (on each end) in length than
the original piece.
(c) Use a clean, dry cotton wiper, G00034 to clean all the surfaces of the repair area and the
replacement seal.

(2) Do these steps to install the fiberglass cloth and apply RTV Silicone Elastomer adhesive,
A50311 [C01-006]:
(a) Cut two pieces of fiberglass cloth approximately 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) by 1.0 inch (25.4
mm) in dimension to fit on the two sides of the splice area.
1) The fiberglass cloth must not extend more than 0.45-0.55 inch (11.4-14.0 mm) from
the edge of the chevron seal.
2) The fiberglass cloth must not be on the seating area of the chevron seal.
(b) Apply a thin coat of silicone adhesive on the chevron seal at each splice area.
