DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SOLVENTS. PUT ON A RESPIRATOR,
PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES, AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE
SOLVENTS. KEEP THE SOLVENTS AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND
HEAT. SOLVENTS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE. SOLVENTS CAN
CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL, AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Clean the area all around the bearing with solvent, B00090 or technical grade methyl ethyl
ketone, B50046, remove all the dirt, oil, and grease.

(3) Spray release compound on all the surfaces that will touch the RTV.

(4) Apply RTV 106 adhesive, A01050 [C01-007] to seal the areas between the rod end bearings
and the actuation lever arm bearings.
(a) It is recommended that the height of the sealant be less than 0.250 (6.35 mm).

(5) Let the RTV sealant cure for approximately 12 hours.
NOTE: The cure time is for a room temperature of 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) with 50
percent relative humidity.

(6) If no more work will be done at this time, do the task "Put the Airplane to its Usual Condition
After VSV Repairs".

13. Borescope Blending Tool - Repair of the Stage 1-14 HPC Rotor Blades
A. General
(1) This task gives instructions on how to do the borescope blend repair of the stage 1-14 HPC
rotor blades, and the blend limits for the repair.
(2) This task is used to repair the HPC rotor blades that are found to be unserviceable during the
borescope inspection. You can refer to the HPC blade damage repairable limits that follow. The
allowable damage will be removed during the blend repair procedure.
