(1) Make sure there is a protective mat, STD-6378 in the inlet cowl.

(2) Clean the fan blade and the fan disk dovetail pressure faces with a cloth or soft bristle brush,
STD-123 that is moist with solvent (solvent, B00148, alcohol, B00679 [C04-035] or solvent,
B00678 [C04-003]).

(3) Do the steps that follow to prepare to install the fan rotor blade:
(a) Use preload tool, SPL-6387.
