(5) For the right engine, open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(6) Put a protective mat, STD-6378 in the bottom half of the interior of the inlet cowl.

(7) Remove the fan rotor spinner (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-01/401).

(8) Remove the fan blades (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-02/401).
NOTE: Remove only the necessary blades to get access to the area where you will work.
E. Remove the Liner

(1) Remove the retainer screws that hold the liner to the fan case.

(2) Use a razor blade or a sharp knife to cut the adhesive that is around the liner.

(3) Remove the liner as follows:
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE HEAT IS NOT MORE THAN 130 DEGREES F (54
DEGREES C). DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(a) When you remove the forward liner you can apply heat to the fan case.
1) This step is not necessary, but will make the removal of the liner easier.
2) Use a heat gun or a heat blanket to apply heat to the fan case.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE A GREAT AMOUNT OF FORCE AT ONE LOCATION. DO
NOT PUT THE TOOL DIRECTLY ON THE LINER. PUT THE TOOL ON THE
ADJACENT METAL SURFACE OR PUT A WOODEN PAD BETWEEN THE
TOOL AND THE LINER. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(b) Use the tools from kit 2C6353 to remove the liner.
1) Apply a continuous pressure with the tool to remove the liner.

(4) If the edge of the liner is below the adjacent surface, do the steps that follow:
(a) Hold the ball lock assembly and lift while you pull the liner forward.
(b) This will disengage the bumper before the liner is removed.
