1) Make sure you use the shims with a fan rotor assembly that has been reworked for
GE SB 72-650.
NOTE: This service bulletin changes the disk and retainers.

(c) Apply a liberal amount of lubricant assembly paste, D50192 [C02-085] or sprayable air
drying lubricant, D50224 [C02-003] to the mating surfaces of the blades [6], midspan
shrouds, retainers [3], spacers [4], and the disk [7].
1) Let the sprayable air drying lubricant, D50224 [C02-003] dry for 10 minutes between
layers.
NOTE: It is not necessary for assembly paste, D50192 [C02-085] to dry and
assembly can immediately follow application.
(d) Apply a layer of oil, D00552 [C02-019] or oil, D50072 [C02-023] to the threads of the bolt
[1] and the key [5].

(4) Install the fan rotor blade [6] as follows:
NOTE: Install the number 1 blade first. While you look aft, the number 1 blade is the second
blade counterclockwise from the offset hole. The slot has a '1-1' mark on the disk.
(a) Make sure you did the steps to prepare to install the fan rotor blade.
(b) Install the fan rotor blade [6] in the correct slot on the disk [7].
(c) Hold the fan rotor blade [6] to the outer direction, and install the retainer [3].
(d) Put the spacer [4] through the retainer [3].
(e) Use the spacer tool to install the spacer [3].
(f) Install the key [3].
(g) If it is necessary, install the balance weights [2].
(h) Install the bolt [1].
1) Tighten the bolt to 55-70 pound-inches (6.2-7.8 Newton meters).
(i) Remove the spacer tool.

(5) Optional: Apply the RTV sealant to seal the gap between the fan blade dovetail slots
(Figure 403).

DO NOT GET SOLVENTS IN YOUR MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR
SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SOLVENTS. PUT ON A
RESPIRATOR, PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES, AND GLOVES WHEN
YOU USE SOLVENTS. KEEP THE SOLVENTS AWAY FROM SPARKS,
FLAME, AND HEAT. SOLVENTS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE.
SOLVENTS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL, AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
(a) Clean the surfaces that you will seal as follows:
1) Make a cleaning mixture that is 50% (by volume) solvent, B00094 and 50%
isopropyl alcohol.
