10. Slot Loaded Bearing Ball Removal

(1) Make sure that the task "Preparation for VSV Repairs" has been done.

(2) Do the preparation steps that follow (Figure 802):
(a) Disconnect the rod end bearing [7B] from the connecting link [8].
CAUTION
DO NOT REMOVE THE JAMNUT LOCKWIRE, LOOSEN THE JAMNUT OR
TURN THE ROD-END BEARING. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS
INSTRUCTION, ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(b) If you will remove the feedback rod end bearing, disconnect the feedback pushrod [12],
leave the lockwire attached.
1) Remove the bolt, spacer, washer, and the nut that connects the rod end bearing [7]
to the bellcrank.
(c) If it is necessary, remove the clevis bolts and nuts to disconnect the pushrod [7A] , the
rod end bearing [7B] and the clevis [7] from the actuation lever [10].

(d) Remove the inserts from the slot loaded bearing (Figure 808), use tool set, SPL-6993.

(e) Align the bearing ball with the loading slots.
(f) Use finger pressure from the opposite side and remove the bearing ball (Figure 807).
