1) Remove the damaged material to the depth of the steel case.
(b) Make straight edges (or undercut the edges) to make a surface for the new material.
(c) Remove the remaining damaged material.
WARNING
DO NOT GET CLEANING SOLUTIONS IN YOUR MOUTH, EYES, OR ON
YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE
SPLASH GOGGLE AND GLOVES WHEN YOU CLEAN. KEEP CLEANING
SOLUTIONS AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAMES, AND HEAT. CLEANING
SOLUTIONS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE, AND CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS.
(d) Clean the repair area with the solvent, B00148.
(e) Sand the face and the edges of the repair area with No. 2 grit abrasive paper, or a rotary
file (or grit blast with 200-mesh aluminum oxide grit).
(f) Useair source, STD-6638 to remove the loose particles.
(g) Clean the repair area with the solvent.
(h) Use filtered compressed air to dry the area.
(i) Do not touch the repair area with your hands.
WARNING
YOU MUST WEAR CLEAN POLYETHYLENE GLOVES OR EQUIVALENT
WHEN YOU TOUCH THE FIBERGLASS FABRIC. YOU CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO YOUR HANDS AND DAMAGE TO THE FABRIC IF YOU DO
NOT WEAR THE PROTECTIVE GLOVES.
(j) Use gloves, STD-6635 to cut a piece of glass fabric, G00031 to approximately 1/8 inch
(3.2 mm) smaller on each edge than the damage area.
(k) Cut a piece of honeycomb material to be the same dimension as the repair area.

(2) Do the repair as follows:
(a) Mix the abradable seal material, A00949 [C01-060].or Hysol EA 934NA adhesive paste,
A01059 [C01-011] (two Part (Hysol EA 934NA).
NOTE: You must do the repair steps as quickly as possible. The pot life of the adhesive
is approximately 30 minutes.
(b) Apply a thick layer of the adhesive to the repair area.
(c) Apply the adhesive to the fiberglass fabric.
1) Use the spatula to rub the adhesive into the fiberglass fabric.
(d) Put the fiberglass fabric on the damaged area.
(e) Apply pressure to rub the adhesive into the fiberglass fabric.
(f) Apply a second layer of adhesive on the fiberglass fabric.
(g) Put the honeycomb piece on the fiberglass fabric.
(h) Use pressure of approximately 3-10 psi (20-69 kPa) against the honeycomb during the
cure time.
(i) Use the heating element, SPL-6797 to cure the repair.
1) Keep the temperature at 175°-200°F (79°-93°C) for 1 hour or 130°-170°F
(54°-77°C) for 2 hours.
