15. Connecting Link Removal

A. General
(1) This procedure gives the steps necessary to remove the IGV through stage 5 connecting links.

SUBTASK 72-35-00-028-110-G00
(1) Make sure the task " Preparation for VSV Repairs" has been done.
SUBTASK 72-35-00-038-111-G00
(2) Remove the stage 5 connecting links from the actuation ring segments as follows (Figure 815):
NOTE: This step is used to remove the connecting links at stage 5.
(a) Remove the four bolts that attach each connecting link to the actuation ring upper and
lower segments.
1) Tag the connecting links to identify the stage.
(b) Remove the four sleeves from each connecting link.
(c) If you find wear on a sleeve, discard the sleeve.

(3) Remove the stages IGV through 4 connecting links from the actuation ring segments as
follows:
NOTE: This step is used to remove the connecting links at stage IGV through stage 4.
(a) Remove the four bolts and four washers that attach each connecting link to the actuation
ring upper and lower segments.
1) Tag the connecting links to identify the stage.
(b) Remove two straight pins from each connecting link.
(c) Remove two sleeves from each connecting link.
(d) If you find wear on a sleeve, discard the sleeve.
