(a) Lubricate the new packing with oil, D00068.
(b) Install the new packing in the adapter grooves.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE FORCE ON THE ADAPTER. DO NOT USE BOLTS TO
INSTALL THE ADAPTER. MAKE SURE THE ROLLER BEARING
ENGAGES WITH THE OUTER RACE. MAKE SURE THE GEAR TEETH
ARE ENGAGED CORRECTLY. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN RESULT.
(c) Lubricate the roller bearing with grease or oil.
(d) Carefully push the roller bearing into the race of the adapter.
(e) Align the stud holes in the adapter with the holes in the gearbox.
(f) Carefully insert the adapter into the gearbox.
(g) Install the washers, bolts and the shoulder studs as necessary.
1) Use the across and across procedure to tighten the bolts (or shoulder studs) to
55-70 pound-inches (6.2-7.9 newton meters).
(h) Install the brackets and tube clamps as necessary.

(4) Install the applicable accessory part on the gearbox.

(1) Close the thrust reversers (PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).
