FAN OUTER OUTLET GUIDE VANES (OGV'S) AND FAIRINGS - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
1. General
A. This procedure gives instructions on how to remove, install, and examine the fan outer outlet guide
vanes and the fairings. Some repair procedures are included in the inspection.
B. In this procedure the fan outer outlet guide vanes are referred to as the OGV's.

(1) Open the fan cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-04/201).

DO THE THRUST REVERSER DEACTIVATION PROCEDURE TO PREVENT
THE OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER. THE ACCIDENTAL
OPERATION OF THE THRUST REVERSER CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO
PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this procedure: Thrust Reverser Deactivation for Ground Maintenance
(PAGEBLOCK 78-31-00/201).

(3) Open the core cowl panels (PAGEBLOCK 71-11-06/201).
D. Remove the outer OGV's and the fairings

(1) Remove the screws that hold the fairings to the aft fan case.
SUBTASK 72-33-03-022-006-G00
(2) Remove the fairing.
SUBTASK 72-33-03-032-007-G00
(3) Remove the bolts that hold the OGV to the aft fan case.
