(1) Examine the external surfaces of the spinner for the conditions that follow:
NOTE: If you are not sure about the cracks, use the procedure for the spot fluorescent
penetrant inspection (PAGEBLOCK 70-11-06/201).
CONDITION MAXIMUM SERVICEABLE LIMITS
Cracks Not permitted. Replace the spinner (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-00/401) if it
is necessary.
Nicks and scratches Permitted, if they are less than 0.030 inch (0.76 mm) in depth and
less than 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) apart. Replace the spinner if it is
necessary (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-00/401).
Dents Permitted, if they are 0.125 inch (3.18 mm) in depth or less. Replace
the spinner if it is necessary (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-00/401).
Erosion (anodize coating that is gone) Permitted.
Broken or cracked rabbet tabs Not permitted. Replace the spinner if it is necessary
(PAGEBLOCK 72-31-00/401).
Fuel-oil leakage Not permitted. Remove the engine (PAGEBLOCK 71-00-02/401)
and do the shop level HPC rotor bore inspection for fuel-in-oil
contamination.
Oil leakage Not permitted. Remove and replace the preformed packings on the
No. 1 bearing manifold (PAGEBLOCK 72-31-00/201).
