(1) Unless specified differently; all cracks less than 0.063 inches (1.60 mm) in length are permitted
if there is no leakage of air or fluid.

(2) Visually examine the frame structure for the conditions that follow:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limits
Cracks at the flange bolt holes One in each hole is permitted, if it extends radially out. There must be four
holes with no cracks between the holes with cracks. The crack is permitted
to extend from the edge of the hole to the flange OD.
Cracks in the parent metal Permitted, if less than 0.060 inch (1.5 mm) in length, with a minimum
separation of 0.50 inch (12.7 mm).
Cracks in the struts Not permitted.
Cracks in the welds Permitted, if less than 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) in length, with a minimum
separation of 0.50 inch (12.7 mm). The cracks must not extend into the
parent metal.
Nicks and gouges Permitted, if less than 0.400 inch (1.02 mm) in depth and 1.0 inch (25.4
mm) in length. The parent metal must not be less than 75% of its original
thickness. There must be a minimum separation of 1.0 inch (25.4 mm).
Smooth contour dents Permitted, if less than 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) in depth.

(3) Visually examine the oil supply and scavenge tubes for the conditions that follow:

Cracks Not permitted.
Nicks and scratches Remove the high metal. Remaining damage that is less than 0.010 inch (0.25
mm) in depth is permitted.
Smooth contour dents Permitted, if less than 0.063 inch (1.6 mm) in depth.
Damaged threads Chase the threads. A total of one full thread can be damaged.

(4) Examine the aft lower engine mount lugs for damage.
(a) If the structure of the lug is not serviceable, replace the lug.

(5) Visually examine the engine ground handling boss bushings for the conditions that follow:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Looseness Insert the ground handling stand pin. The bushing must stay in the correct position.
No bushing Not permitted. Install a new bushing.
