Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Dents and nicks Damaged areas less than 0.03 inch (0.8 mm) in depth are permitted if there are no
distortions (that go out) on the opposite side of the blade. There must be a minimum
separation of 0.25 inch (6.4 mm) between the damage.
Five damaged areas on each side of the blade are permitted that have distortions (that
go out) less than 0.02 inch (0.5 mm) on the opposite side of the blade.
(d) Examine the top surface of the LPT rotor blade platforms (does not include the blade root
radius) for the condition that follows:
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Nicks and dents Permitted.
(e) Examine the seal lips for the condition that follows(Figure 620):
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Material that is rubbed, turned, or
gone
All of this damage is permitted if less than 50 percent of the initial material is
damaged.
(f) Examine the circumferential mate faces on the LPT shroud for the condition that follows
(Figure 621):
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Signs of wear (irregular or
jagged)
All of this type of damage is permitted if there is no sign of related interlock wear.
(g) Examine the LPT shroud interlocks for the conditions that follow (Figure 621):
Condition Maximum Serviceable Limit
Wear (irregular or jagged) Not permitted.
Shingled or not latched Not permitted.

(8) Do the steps that follow to install the borescope plugs B4-3 and B4-8, the pressure probe at
B4-11, and the temperature probes at B4-1, B4-2, B4-4, B4-5, B4-6, B4-7, B4-9, B4-10 B5-2,
B5-3, and B5-4 (Figure 601).
CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT THE BORESCOPE PLUGS ARE INSTALLED IN THE
CORRECT PORT LOCATIONS. ENGINE DAMAGE CAN OCCUR IF A
BORESCOPE PLUG IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT LOCATION.
(a) Apply a light layer of anti-seize compound on the threads and the pressure faces of the
plugs.
(b) Tighten the plugs to the torque values shown in Table 601.
1) Install lockwire.
