V. A and C Sump Vent Inspection
SUBTASK 72-00-00-016-124-G00
(1) Remove the turbine exhaust plug (TASK 78-11-02-004-001-G00).
NOTE: There is no requirement to inspect the C-sump vent area on engines that have flame
arrestors. Engines with flame arrestors are engines that are Pre GE SB 72-084, Post
GE SB 72-675 and Post GE SB 72-668.

(2) Remove the C-Sump cover (TASK 72-53-02-004-001-G00).
SUBTASK 72-00-00-216-126-G00
(3) Visually examine the sump cover and oil slinger for signs of distortion.
(a) Replace these parts if they are damaged.

(4) Visually examine the preformed packing for the sump cover for signs of heat distress.
(a) Replace the preformed packing.

(5) Install the C-Sump Cover (TASK 72-53-02-404-004-G00).

(6) Install the turbine exhaust plug (TASK 78-11-02-404-007-G00).
SUBTASK 72-00-00-036-130-G00
(7) Remove the No. 1 bearing manifold (TASK 72-31-00-002-001-G00).
SUBTASK 72-00-00-216-131-G00
(8) Visually examine the No. 1 bearing manifold for signs of distortion
(TASK 72-31-00-202-011-G00).
(a) Replace the No. 1 bearing manifold if it is damaged.
SUBTASK 72-00-00-426-132-G00
(9) Install the No. 1 bearing manifold (TASK 72-31-00-402-005-G00).
